This 12 days Great Rift Valley Walking tour gives you chance to walk on the shores of Rift valley lakes, go on boat safaris, Climb Mount Longonot, walk amongst wildlife in Hells Gate National park, Walk in cheragaini hills and go for day hike in Mount Elgon.

ITINERARY

Day 1. Depart Nairobi early morning and stop at the Great Rift Valley view point to admire the views before heading to the foot hill of Mount Longonot to start the climb. We will start our walk from the park offices. The walk from the park gate up to the rim is about 3 hrs going up and approximate 2 hrs getting back to the foot hill of the mountain. Good walking shoes and light clothes for hot weather is required. Overnight and dinner at our camp located on the shores of Lake Naivasha.

Day 2 Early morning go on boat safari to Giraffe Island Sanctuary where you will get chance to walk amongst wildlife on foot. The Island is home to lots of Giraffes including zebras, impalas, elands, warthogs, Thompson gazelle’s and other wildlife. Overnight and dinner at the camp.

Day 3. Depart the campsite after breakfast and go on biking tour in Hells Gate National park in the morning hrs.Have lunch then drive to Nakuru town. Overnight and dinner at the campsite located on the edge of Nakuru National park.

Day 4. Early morning go on full day game drive in Lake Nakuru National park to search for lions, leopards, rhinos and other wildlife. Overnight and dinner at our camp.

Day 5. Early morning drive to Menengai crater to enjoy stunning views of Lake Nakuru and the surrounding areas then drive to Lake Bogoria for afternoon Nature Walk on the shores of the lake. Overnight and dinner at our camp located on the shores of Lake Bogoria.

Day 6. Morning walks on the shores of Lake Bogoria then proceed to Lake Baringo for boat tour to search for hippos, birds and crocodiles.

Day 7.Morning boat safari then spend the rest of the day relaxing at the camp

Day 8/9 Drive to Cheregani hills to walk over the hills to experience the traditions and culture of local people.

Day 10. Drive to the foot hill of Mount Elgon

Day 11. Mount Elgon day hike

Day 12.Drive back to Nairobi where the tour ends
